Confusing Identity? Deaf? deaf? Hard of Hearing?

Losing a true identity is a confusing reality without a key.
Looking for a real key and using it to eliminate
your inner identity
Knowing your identity by finding the right key
Identity is the key to be found
The lock of your hidden identity to be opened
No matter if you’re Deaf, deaf,
late-deafened, or hard of hearing
You’re always a person
Show a true identity
Each one is unique

This is very beautifully said. How come no signing from you?? One reason I meditate is to get in touch with my deeper identity. I believe people can be both deaf and hearing, when late-deafened. We each have our own personal journey.

Thank you, Kim! I know that I need to do ASL, but it takes time to upload the video. Everything keeps me on a go all the time when I'm around my kids.

Thanks again :)

I like how thoughtful the people look in the photos. I am still adjusting to the change in my status from hearing to hard of hearing person. But of course, I am still me and the best part of me has nothing to do with hearing but with loving myself and others.

Deb Ann,

That is beautiful. I like the way the pictures connect with the poem. That pondering your thoughts.

My reflection of the poem is that if we all use the same key and same identity, then we lose what makes us unique. So instead of being what others want of us, just be ourselves.
