What Would He Say After 20 Years in a Coma?

Something got to my attention when I read this article. I thought about what he would say when he sees some deaf people using their sidekicks or any kind of devices. He might say the same thing of what he thought of Hearing people using their cell phones. Or he still has no idea since he only hears/sees them doing their text-messaging or using their sidekicks. So, here’s the article I read.

He’s awake:

Jan Grezbski, a resident of Poland, fell into a coma in 1988 following an accident. His wife cared for him for 19 years, never giving up hope that he might some day wake up. Her dreams came true recently and now her husband is rediscovering a world he hasn’t been a part of for almost 20 years. He learned his four children were married and he had 11 grandchildren. Communists no longer ruled Poland. And he says that when people talk on their cell phones, all they do is complain. “I have nothing to complain about,” he says.

You may not really care, but it can be fun to image what he would say about something after 20 years in a coma. I’d like to consider something different from what was in this article. Hmm, I think he might say, “it’s a miracle the deaf person can speak, but why is the voice so different?” Or it could be another way, he can be in awe when he sees one and says a fantastic impression on the cochlear implants if he doesn’t know any of a deaf culture or sign language. It’s just a thought. What do you think?

Interested! I watched the movie about less five years ago. The story was about the woman who was coma for twenty or twenty five years later. she woke up and she realized it is no longer 1970's..

One day she went to resturant and she wore dress in 1972. In 1982 something she heard the cell phone near the table.. The woman picked her cell. She saw her when the lady picked cordless.. She laughed.. her sister told her it was actually new cordless.. she never seen it before..
I can understand it has been strange after twenty years. you would not know or remember back more than twenty years.

It is very true.. but the woman was caught in middle later on with her husband who was with her sister for long time and keep secret between them. she caught the family picture alumm book.

Wow, if the person is deaf, and will be shocked to learn that Gallaudet Uninversity has 2nd Deaf president in their history, videoconference is hot thing in the coummunity, etc etc.

4 kids - married, 11 grandchildren that sure rocks!

Thanks for sharing.

Deaf Pixie,
Oh, yes. I remember the movie! It's good one.

Judge,
Oh, that's right if it's a deaf person, he or she would be shocked about Gallaudet stuff and protests, etc...Good one, too!

Deb Ann,

How silly I was saying Cordless started at 1982. My error information was not accurate .. I do remember it was around 1989 ??

Sure is fascinating when someone wakes up after 20 years. It would seem logical that if someone told you that you slept for 20 years, you'd already know that there's gonna be lots of new things out there. I'd probably request World Book year books for the years I missed. :)

Yea, right on, I'd probably do the same thing, too.
